As one of the first statistical institutions in the country, INSTAT keeps strong ties with the members of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS). The institute upholds the mission and vision of a dynamic and productive statistical system in the Philippines. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) serves as the central statistical authority on primary data collection in the Philippines. It also conducts censuses on different sectors of the Philippine economy such as population, housing, agriculture, fisheries and business. It collects, compiles, analyzes and publishes statistical information on the economic, social, demographic, political affairs and general affairs of the people of the Philippines. Likewise, it enforces the civil registration functions in the Philippines.

The Philippine Statistical Association Inc. is a private non-stock and non-profit foundation organized on December 22, 1951.It is is tasked to: uplift and advance the statistics profession; encourage and promote the proper application and interpretation of statistics in all fields of learning and endeavors; work for the improvement of statistical literacy and education at all levels; serve the public by providing advice on current statistical issues and concerns.

The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI) is the research and training arm of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) and one of major statistical agencies in PSS.

The UP Diliman School of Statistics was established in 1953 as the Statistical Training Center, then later as Statistical Center under a bilateral agreement between the Government of the Philippines and the United Nations. Its primary objective then was to work towards the improvement of statistical services in government.
