Year One After Silver: INSTAT Celebrates 26th Founding Anniversary
Posted on

The Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) embarks on a new chapter following its Silver Anniversary celebration in 2023 with the theme “Beyond the Facts: Forging Ties, Celebrating Milestones.” INSTAT steps into its 26th year with a Family Day that enabled students, faculty, and staff to interact, share unexplored talents, and strengthen their relationships.

The festivities on 26 February 2024 kicked off with the awarding of honor students for the Academic Year 2022-2023, led by Asst. Prof. Reanne Len Arlan of the Scholarships, Honors, and Awards committee.

This was followed by the much-anticipated INSTAT Faculty Bluff, a trivia game designed to challenge and entertain both participants and audience while fostering a spirit of unity and fun. Three faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Liza Comia, Asst. Prof. James Roldan Reyes, and Asst. Prof. Leonard Allan Almero, served as the Faculty Bluffers. They presented tricky questions and humorous options to the competing teams. The teams, each comprising five students, battled it out for the top spot. The team led by Asst. Prof. Ramoncito Cambel, claimed the first prize, followed closely by teams led by Asst. Prof. Lara Paul Ebal and Asst. Prof. Ronald Roldan Jr.

A highlight of the celebration was the traditional Boodle Fight, where the students, faculty, and staff shared a meal. The 26th anniversary celebration not only honored the institute’s past achievements but also reinforced its ongoing commitment to building significant connections within its community and continuing to lead in the field of statistics education, research, and public service.
