We are pleased to invite you to the Institute of Statistics’ webinar on Research and Development (R&D) Survey Report on Wednesday, 12 May 2021, 3:00 – 5:00 P.M.
The results of the R&D survey will inform policy and update the Philippines’ research and development indicators. The indicators under the Sustainable Development Goals Target 9.5: Enhance scientific research, upgrade the technological capabilities and industrial sectors in all countries, will also be updated with the survey results.
The R&D Survey was funded by the Department of Science and Technology under the project “Improving the Design, Conduct, and Analysis of the Survey on Research and Development Expenditures and Personnel”. Higher education institutions, government agencies, and private nonprofit institutions that conducted in-house research in 2018 and that responded to the R&D Survey were also invited to this webinar.
Detailed results of the R&D survey may be viewed here*.
* This R&D Survey Report presents the results on government, higher education institutions and private non-profit institutions that undertook R&D activities in 2018. The national estimates cited in the report are aggregates from these three sectors only. Data from the business and industry sector will be incorporated to the results of the R&D Survey by the Department of Science and Technology and will be presented in another document soon. The indicators presented in Chapter 1 included some estimates from the 2018 Census of Philippine Business and Industry. As mentioned in the webinar, these are considered preliminary estimates. The official and final estimates will be provided by the Department of Science and Technology.
